There are so many unsettling aspects to that video. He pounds the hat onto the marine’s head almost like he is a piece of furniture. And surely he can understand the concept of things trying to leave one’s head in the wind. But ultimately, when I start to feel as though there might be some faint whiff of humanity there, I remember that he is aware of an armed person standing there: treating them like humans might help them refrain from retiring you as hastily when it finally comes to that. ---
