Anyone who thinks that the evolution debate can be shut down by the “If we evolved from monkeys, then why are there still monkeys?” will side with the denialists simpler explanation, than the real one which is more complicated. ---

If you can find a way to gently get a denialist, or a creationist (same mentality, mostly the same individuals too) to reconsider his assumptions, or even get him to recognize that they’re assumptions and dogma but not fact-based, you’ve won a major, major battle. Nye does have that talent, while most of us are simply too impatient and can look haughty and dismissive to Believers instead. That lets them dismiss _us_. ---
