Yesterday Trump said if Robert Mueller started investigating his family’s finances, he would fire him. Today, Bloomberg reports that Mueller is doing just that. Sessions is less a sitting duck with no power as AG than he would be if he were to step down. If he is dirty, he’s dirty, and IF that is the case, far better (for him) to be AG where he has a chance of steering events than he would as Jefferson Bureaugard Citizen. ---

I am incredibly scared, because I think I actually understand Trump’s brain. His statement that what Sessions did “is so unfair to the President”, and all that stuff about the Obama deep state. He bought 100% into every ridiculous conspiracy and cover-up idiocy about Obama that Fox News thought up. He thinks that it is the primary job of the AG and DOJ and FBI and everybody else to cover-up the current President’s misdeeds. And he just doesn’t understand why people like Sessions won’t simply openly lie, cheat ,and steal like they are supposed to, and assumes they must all still be Obama’s accomplices. And he thinks that whining that they aren’t properly in the bag will gain him sympathy, because everybody will finally see just how unfair it is to him. ---

To him, both those concepts–‘the plebes pay $12/month for their health care’ and ‘a bunch of people are screaming about Obamacare needing repeal’ are just Boring Stuff. He can’t be arsed to think about them. If there were a direct link between either concept and A Way For Me [Trump] To Make Money, then he’d at least assign someone _else_ to think about them. But there really isn’t. There’s a bit of fun to be had in talking about something Obama did being reversed, but it’s not really enough for him to spend any time on. ---

The really stupid part of this all is the Republican idea that when Obama did anything, he was a dictator, blah blah blah, but they’re fine with everything and anything Trump does. Hypocrisy is apparently a Republican Virtue. ---

If he was just the little lamb who didn’t realize what he was testifying to at the hearing, and he had just got involved with this clusterfuck by accident, he would resign today and get out of town.
