Did he even officially _have_ the job? I mean, wasn’t he supposed to start work tomorrow? In any case, selling your company, getting hit with what is going to be a killer tax bill, then a divorce and world-wide humiliation and derision must make for a bummer Monday. ---

With partial credit to some rando on Twitter, I propose that the OED adopt _scaramucci_ as a word meaning a period of 10 days. As in, “only four more shopping scaramuccis until Christmas,” or “Officer, I haven’t smoked meth in at least two scaramuccis!” ---
