Where I watched his speech, the sound didn’t 100% match up with the video and it totally reminded me of that time the Starfleet historian decided that making a Nazi planet was a good idea and the bad guy doped up the Starfleet historian and was broadcasting his face with the words prerecorded. Everything Trump said sounded like someone else’s words. His thanking of the troops (mentioning 9/11 along the way, 'cuz of course) was overlong and sounded like it was written by someone who appreciates the military far more than he does. I mean, congratulations to Trump for being able to get through a public appearance without bragging about delicious chocolate cake or his fine Virginia winery but those speeches sound like total BS and makes the non-scripted BS he spouts sound worse along the way. ---

The Oval Office re-do was probably the CIA telling Trump to GTFO for a while while they tore the place up looking for Russian bugs the moron allowed in. Yeah, yeah, it needs to be remodelled, that’s the ticket. ---

Article in today’s NY Times (sorry, no link) on the open enmity and contempt between Trump and Mitch McConnell. [Mr Burns]Excellent[/mb] If I had to pick one way to make sure that the Trump administration was as brief and ineffectual and harmless as possible, open war with Congress would do just fine. ---

Reading between the lines on that, I will bet anything that it turns out that McConnell suggested to Trump that he resign. That would have been about the same time after the repeal/replace implosion that Trump came out and said maybe McConnell should resign. Mark my words, sooner or later we’ll hear about the time McConnell suggested to Trump that he resign.
