I refuse to follow Calvinism, I refuse to follow Southern Baptistism (whatever). I refuse to follow Judaism. I refuse to follow Buddhism. You want to follow one or the other? FINE. But don’t put your crap on ME. If you will not **obey** , **enforce** , and **uphold** the Constitution, the law as written, as a public official must swear an oath to do, then DON’T BECOME ONE. Stay home. That includes wannabe judges. ---

(a) I only know what I gathered from This American Life (b) After this, please stop making me defend DeVos (c) As I understand it, there is a mother struggling to raise her child. The mother keeps losing jobs because of intermittent health issues. DeVos hires the mom full-time, personally mentors the kid in school, helps the kid get into a private high school, pays part of the kid’s tuition at the private high school, and also hires the kid part time over summers, to work with her mom. Without knowing the full facts (maybe DeVos DID also get the kid a summer internship at some business she owns… maybe the kid really likes working at the DeVos house because she’s near her mom and people like her… maybe the kid is only 14 and just too young for any more serious job and likes having spending money in her pocket) it’s pretty preposterous to be bashing someone who is doing something truly good and charitable because we assume she’s doing it in a classist way.
