Another thing about the UN speech…what is Trump’s bizarre fixation with Venezuela? He’s like a latter-day demented Cato the Elder – he’ll be bloviating about some unrelated topic, and then “Venezuela must be destroyed” will pop out. And I think it’s just him: I don’t recall a single word about Venezuela from any of his aides, proxies, cabinet members or other toadies. ---

Nobody repeat this, but I heard this mumbled assertion, which is probably bullshit, but it would explain a thing or two. I was told that the MAGA hats that are made in China are not actually made in China. China contracts out the manufacture to a neighboring country to the east and puts their own tags on. I mean, it fits: if you are paying for a thing and then you subjugate the maker, you would no longer have to pay for the thing. ---
