Also, back towards the end of 2015, Donald Trump retweeted a 4chan [You Can’t Stump the Trump](http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2015/10/13/donald_trump_embraces_4chan_fans_retweets_cant_stump_trump_video.html) meme, which featured a Pepe representation of him. So, yeah, no to the idea that the media made this is a thing. The media is usually _way_ behind internet culture. ---

Pepe as mascot started in 4chan, as a symbol of not giving fuck, being calm and indifferent in the face of social disapproval. Migrated to the alt-right due to the overlap in community membership between 4chan and alt-right. ---

The more pictures I see of Trump, the more convinced I am that he’s got dementia.
