That’s it. He chose to distract from a ceremony honoring three Native Americans by taking a poke at a political opponent. And he did it by using the name of a Native American he uses to mock her with. This goes beyond crass to “disrespectful beyond belief.” ---

(And there have been many, involving corruption at Trump properties and involving Trump personally.) Why not go after the much more low-hanging fruit? He’s clearly guilty of corruption, fraud, and violations of the emoluments clause of the U.S. Constitution for all the money he takes from foreign governments, and commits these crimes on a daily basis. I have to theorize at this point that they are hesitant to option the door to investigations of corruption and financial crimes because they know they’re guilty of it as well, albeit probably not to the extremes Trump takes it to or involving such levels of depravity as aiding mobsters, drug dealers, and human traffickers. ---

The attempt to block the merger of AT&T and Time Warner because of CNN is actually, as this Atlantic article points out, is a tactic that Vladimir Putin and other authoritarians use. They use government power to lean on companies to act in the interests of the regime.
