I used to use Copperplate Gothic Light in my emails for a long time, one of the reasons being that members of my previous team each chose different fonts so that we could sort out team inbox faster. The problem was stupid people who insisted that I was yelling at them or being mean because it was in ALL CAPS. No, no it isn’t. You’re an oversensitive moron. So I switched to Perpetua. ---

But the point is that keeping the stupid contained is preferable to spreading it all over the place. If you’re using Courier, it’s actually preferred to use two spaces. The guideline applies to proportional vs monospaced fonts. Proportional fonts are only supposed to get one space after the period. Monospaced fonts like Courier or American Typewriter should get two. ---
