What you are trying to sarcastically describe as some unobtainable utopia is pretty much the norm _in every other industrialized nation_, all of whom experience gun violence and occasional massacres comparable to Parkdale or Columbine, but at a far lower frequency. If you just want to admit that you like guns more than you like public safety (though even then, the U.S. isn’t _that_ dangerous a place overall), you should feel free to do so. You wouldn’t even need “total” gun control, whatever that is, to make an improvement. ---

So, while in general I agree with the idea that CCW can be a good thing and can bring crime down in general - the “good guy with a gun” theory is maybe 50/50 on doing any good. And I fully disagree that the right idea here is to arm teachers/etc - schools should always be safe zones - deal with the issues (better training to help spot these kids, help these kids, etc) ---

Should armed, trigger-at-the-ready guards be posted at every type of venue that a mass shooting has previously taken place, often repeatedly - churches, post offices, night clubs, country music concerts, malls, and all private work places? So, a police state in other words. Or, y’know, common sense and reasonable limits like an assault weapons ban and raising the age of purchasing firearms to 21. Both options seem equally feasible. ---

Clearly any teacher who would refuse to be packing is a liberal pussy who should be sent packing. By requiring all teachers to be armed all the time, we can correct the problem of liberal bias in edumacation. ---

Surely we’ll hear some story about a teacher in a mink coat driving her Cadillac to school, collecting a bonus she doesn’t deserve because her gun wasn’t even loaded. And it’s possible some of this money could find its way from the teachers to… (wait for it) … **TEACHERS’ UNIONS!!!** AAUUUUUUggggggggghhhhhh! ---
