From Trump’s POV this is a slam-dunk. Let’s look at his checklist: It makes American Jews, fundamentalist Christians, and Netanyahu happy. It pisses off Palestinians … put that on the plus side. It enables him to say “I fulfilled a campaign promise!!” (although god knows why he made such a promise in the first place) He doesn’t need to get Congressional approval, and that boring negotiating and compromising 'n stuff. He can do it with Other People’s Money, specifically Sheldon Adelson’s. Easy peasy! Do it today! ---

Also Trumps claim that these shooters are cowards who will be afraid to enter a building if they know they might meet armed opposition is ludicrous. More than half of theses shooters take their own life before police get to them. The last thing on their mind is their own personal safety. ---

We could turn every school into a fortress with armed guards patrolling every square foot. So then what? The next demented shithead with an AR-15 shoots up a school bus, or the McDonalds where all the kids hang out, or the local mall. Watching stupid people try to solve problems is disheartening. Illegal drugs? I know, let’s declare war on them. Illegal immigration? Hey, let’s build a gigantic fucking wall. Shit Gibbon is, no doubt, extremely proud of his arming the teachers “solution.” He’s just that dumb. ---
