Not quite sure where to post this simple question. I think this thread will do - Are Melania and Barron back staying in New York? Or are they at the WH? Just curious. If I where her, I would have packed my bags a long time ago. ---

In the usual course of sex scandals now is about the time the culprit fesses up and throws himself on the mercy of his wife and some god botherer recruited to give him spiritual support. It’s not like anyone with half a brain (which I knew excludes Trump supporters) thinks at least some of this stuff didn’t happen. So why isn’t he taking this route? Could it be that he just cannot admit, even to himself, that he lied? Or is the truth so awful that it would blow up - dead girl or live boy awful. Or being peed on awful. The usual scandal is about some not so original infidelity, after all. Could this be worse? ---

A busy Thursday in Trumpworld: - Trump paid his doorman $30K to not talk about the baby he had with a housekeeper. - Trump’s lawyer, Michael Cohen, regularly taped his phone calls. The FBI probably seized these recordings which may include damaging conversations with Trump. - Trump was obsessed with disproving the “pee tapes.” He brought it up with Comey at least four times in January 2017. ---

I was always skeptical of the pee tape just because I had trouble forming a cognitive narrative around it. 5 hookers enter Trump’s hotel room. I’m going to assume that maybe they got naked and did sex stuff first — but at some point do they mention that Obama once slept in that same bed? And does Trump then say — “ since Obama once slept in this bed that I’m going to have to sleep in tonight, so why don’t you girls piss all over it and get it all wet and stinky,” It just didn’t make sense. But it’s such a perfect metaphor for what he’s done to the country that I sort of believe it. I think a pee tape will be released sometime. And I think the man in it will look a lot like Trump but not be positively identifiable. And Putin will say, maybe it’s him, maybe not … but it sure looks like him. Trump will, of course, deny it. But since everyone knows he lies about everything, his denial will carry no weight. He will demand truth in a world where he spent the last year singlehandedly destroying the concept of truth. It will be deliciously ironic. ETA: Maybe he wanted Comey to investigate because he wants one of them to be his fourth wife but he didn’t know how to get in touch with her. ---

But why would he ask comey to prove a negative? How could you ask someone repeatedly to prove that something doesn’t exist? That’s what I’m trying to wrap my head around. If there’s absolutely positively no way a videotape of you could possibly exist (because you never were part of what supposedly took place, for instance), why on earth would you ask the head of the FBI to prove that? A man who has never been in a room with Russian prostitutes peeing on a bed doesn’t worry about the existence of a videotape that shows Russian prostitutes peeing on a bed. But a man who has? Well, he’s the guy who starts sweating once the rumors start… ---

Sadly, this is more of an erupting volcano. A chain of earthquakes. A series of tidal waves. Or maybe it’s one of those [fatbergs](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fatberg)that clogs up sewer systems. It does have to be watched and looked at and monitored. And commented on. I’d love nothing better than to feel I could go for a day without looking at the news. ---
