I didn’t mean to imply that they are oblivious, only that, no matter what we do, their reaction will be the same. So, since they’ll scream and howl and gnash in any event, it’s better to hold them accountable than to appease them. At the very least, the lesson that elections have consequences would not be soon forgotten. I also did not intend that anger be the endpoint, but as a starting point for action. While repairing the damage lately done to the environment, (probably) to Medicare and Medicaid, to womens’ rights, and to the long-term stability of the US economy, no consideration at all should be given to how the more strident Trump supporters feel. They’re the ones who broke everything. Put 'em in timeout like any other tantrum-throwing toddler. ---
