Trump supporters do not give a shit, and will not criticize Trump. To do so would be to admit they got suckered. For example: If Obama were to hypothetically skip Barbara Bush’s funeral had she hypothetically passed on his watch, right wing heads would be exploding with rage across this land. Trump skips it and everyone will whistle and look at their shoes.

The only way Trump voters will give a shit is when he turns this country into a shithole that they have to live in.

When the Republicans and Trump blow the budget so badly out of the water that they have to choose between military deployments and Medicare, or keeping military bases open and Social Security, then they’ll start to care. When the current economic policies have had five years to bake into the system and trigger another massive economic contagion, then they’ll care. But not until then. Not until we’re standing in lines at charity soup kitchens.

And I’m afraid that, yes, this is inevitable.

Nah.
That sounds like a failure of imagination.

“Just imagine how much worse off we’d be if the Deep State liberals had been in charge.
As bad as this is, they would’ve made it worse. Lucky we had Trump et al or things’d be even worse.”

There is a group of Americans who think liberals are patronizing them. The irony, is that liberals are treatin them respectfully by assumingt hey can persuaded by facts. The ones patronizing them are the people that understand then can be easily influenced by slogans like death panels and MAGA or by ridiculous theories that Mexico will pay for a wall tax cuts for the rich help the poor

That’s the problem. Most trump supporters are cut out of the same cloth as **Clothahump** , and aren’t capable of seeing any issue beyond the color of a politician’s tie. It’s like they go to default “dumb” setting when discussing politics, yet post rationally and reasonably in other threads. Republititius is a dangerous disease.

HD is the same way. Republititius has destroyed his brain in all things political, yet he posts like a normal person in threads that are not political.

The Bushes do NOT like Trump. I think it’s likely they asked him not to attend.

I doubt that was necessary. The recently departed dismissed him as someone not worth thinking about. Seems he took that in the spirit it was intended.

A [lawsuit](https://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trump-russia/democrats-sue-russia-trump-campaign-for-alleged-2016-election-conspiracy-idUSKBN1HR2BE)has been filed by the Democratic Party against Russia and the Trump campaign, naming Jared Kushner and Donald Jr. among others, for conspiring to influence the 2016 election. The campaign is described as “a racketeering organization” and the concerted actions “unprecedented treachery.”
So…this is new. Not sure I can recall a lawsuit like this being filed before.

Yet again we find a parallel in Watergate; from [Washington Post](https://www.washingtonpost.com/politics/democratic-party-files-lawsuit-alleging-russia-the-trump-campaign-and-wikileaks-conspired-to-disrupt-the-2016-campaign/2018/04/20/befe8364-4418-11e8-8569-26fda6b404c7_story.html?noredirect=on&utm_term=.f7bae1052a5b):

"The lawsuit echoes a similar legal tactic that the Democratic Party used during the Watergate scandal. In 1972, the DNC filed suit against then-President Richard Nixon’s reelection committee seeking $1 million in damages for the break-in at Democratic headquarters in the Watergate building.

“The suit was denounced at the time by Nixon’s attorney general, John Mitchell, who called it a case of “sheer demagoguery” by the DNC. But the civil action brought by the DNC’s then-chairman, Lawrence F. O’Brien, was ultimately successful, yielding a $750,000 settlement from the Nixon campaign that was reached on the day in 1974 that Nixon left office.”
