When I previewed my response before posting it, I considered that you were talking about Wolf rather than Sanders. I looked back, but it wasn’t clear to me that you were, so I went with my first interpretation. Sorry for the misunderstanding. If someone wants to go to an event where they know they’ll be insulted (jokingly so, of course) and can take it humorously that’s fine. If someone doesn’t want to go and be the butt of jokes, that’s fine with me, too. I don’t buy into the idea that one must appreciate jokes that are made at their expense. A president should be able to take substantive criticism. I hope they would approve of freedom of the press, but the WHCD isn’t the only forum to show that approval. But I do agree with Covfefe that it’s extremely hypocritical of Trump to be that way. Ask Rosie O’Donnell, Serge Kovaleski, etc. Trump dishes out insults more than anyone else I can think of, and from a louder podium. If only there was a way to fix this. I have to assume that, purely in the interest of fairness, he also thinks the President shouldn’t accuse the press of lying, either. ---

As long as Trump is too much of a coward to show up at the dinner, the gloves are off. The last President who didn’t show up couldn’t make it because he was recovering from being fucking SHOT. As long as Trump and his team are such obvious fucking liars, it is no less than a patriot’s duty to call them fucking liars wherever and whenever and then some. I was, however, taken aback at the “Sarah Huckabee Sanders burns fat…” line because that is what it sounded like, and judging by the nearby reactions I wasn’t alone. I now see that in transcripts it was “burns facts”. And while I’m here, Fuck you, Donald Trump, you coward asshole liar. ---

Maybe it’s because they’re so used to women being attacked for their looks, they assume that there must have been one - because there “always” is. Perfect smokey eyes are hard. If anything, it’s a compliment to SHS’s makeup skills. ---
