It’s much the same principle as chain gangs; the point of chain gangs was to publicly parade black men in chains so white people could watch and satisfy themselves that things hadn’t _really_ changed that much. ---

Sometimes my running sweatpants (with elastic cuffs) will do that and I feel a bit foolish. I don’t even think he can pull those suit pants down - if that’s what they are. The too-long tie has become a MAGA thing yet how can you be _that_ fashion-stupid? ---
