Of course it’s red. Did he actually drive up from the gate to the door? Or has he wrecked the last of Jackie’s rose garden already (and set it on fire). Yeah, checks show up immediately in your account. I remember those days. Wait, no I don’t. In some banks the funds may be available yet if the check bounces, you’re out that money plus a surcharge. I remember a time when we used to be paid cash every week, then stopped being paid for a while (yeah, illegal and all) and when we were next paid, it was a check from a nearby bank. About ten of us were all there within minutes on line to get cash for them. This man has probably written hundreds - maybe thousands - of bad checks from banks you can’t immediately go to and get cash from. “What, no good? Come in my accountant will write another.” “No good? Sue me” “No good, I’m all bankrupt so get in the debtors line.” ---
