Ya gotta hand it to them. They keep thinking of new things to do that I would never have dreamt possible.

He has Twitter and Bluesky accounts to which he posts live clips of Trump and his cronies. Good source for finding out what inanities they’re blithering on about these days without the media’s attempts to sanewash and both-sides it. He gets all his clips directly from live TV, so you can be assured it isn’t old or AI-generated.

He also occasionally comments on sports and wrestling.

[Hey, nothing says _functioning democracy_ like making the border a military base.](https://www.aol.com/news/donald-trump-authorizes-u-military-232546670.html)

> [@](#):
>
> [President Donald Trump](https://www.usatoday.com/news/politics/donald-trump/)is authorizing the U.S. military to take jurisdiction over federal lands along the southern border to help enforce his immigration agenda.
>
> Trump issued a memorandum to the secretaries of Defense, Interior, Agriculture and Homeland Security late Friday titled “Military Mission for Sealing the Southern Border of the United States and Repelling Invasions.”
>
> The order directs the secretaries to facilitate the transfer of jurisdiction over federal land along the border so military activity along the border can “occur on a military installation under the jurisdiction of the Department of Defense.”
>
> The lands would be designated as “National Defense Areas.”
>
> The order names the Roosevelt Reservation, a strip of land along the U.S. border with Mexico in California, Arizona and New Mexico, as one of the federal lands slated for military control. The Roosevelt Reservation is an easement roughly 60 feet wide, or "the distance from home plate to the pitcher’s mound,” said Adam Isacson, director of defense oversight for the Washington Office on Latin America think tank in Washington, D.C.
>
> The consequences DOD taking control of federal land at the border aren’t immediately clear, he said, but it could result in more severe criminal charges for migrants who cross the border unlawfully.
>
> Migrants who cross the border on land under the Defense Department’s jurisdiction “would have trespassed on a military installation,” Isacson said. They could be subjected to charges beyond “entry without inspection,” a federal misdemeanor.

This is problematic for a few reasons. First off, of course this is to circumvent the law prohibiting using the military for domestic law enforcement. It’s also a way to turn the actual non-violent misdemeanor of entering the country without inspection into a felony.

Next, while the strip of land is already federal property, that does not make it a military installation. AFAIK, creating a military base by his lonesome is not something the president has the authority to do.

[Next, it’s not like we’ve had a great experience when cdreating military exclusion areas on the border based on nothing other than prejudice and histeria.](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Internment_of_Japanese_Americans)

And where’s DOGE in all this? Aren’t they supposed to be making governmental actions more efficient; aren’t they supposed to be cutting costs? From the first link:

> [@](#):
>
> “There are now between four and five uniformed personnel for every migrant that was apprehended in March,” Isacson said.

That’s a bit of, dare I say it, _overkill_, don’t you think?

>
> The government’s contention that Khalil’s presence in the U.S. posed “potentially serious foreign policy consequences” satisfied requirements for deportation, Immigration Judge Jamee E. Comans said at a hearing in Jena.

I tried to get the ban lifted so I could see my dogs, but they would not, nor would they tell me why I was banned. Probably due to zero activity, or did someone hi-jack my account? I haven’t a clue.

> The move comes after the Trump administration imposed a minimum tariff rate of 145% on Chinese goods imported to the United States. The tariffs would have a major impact on tech giants like Apple, which make iPhones and other products in China.

I just saw Stephanie Ruhle on _Velshi_ (MSNBC) say something like ~“So we’re going to impose 145% tariffs on everything we buy from China except the things we actually buy from China?”

I think that is a little misleading. The US buys more than just electronic-related products from China. For example, doesn’t China make Trump’s red MAGA hats and other MAGA and America First memorabilia?

Shouldn’t [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KQveng3Wxz8) be the reaction for the magaflatearthers? But, of course, they’ll just excuse it or, as is their wont, deny it outright.

I believe I read that _official_ MAGA hats sold by **Trump** are made in the U.S.A.; but there’s a lot more _unofficial_ MAGA products that are made in China. My WAG is that most Trump supporters buy whatever’s cheapest or most convenient, rather than buying the official products.
