That whole confrontation with Harvard? [Apparently it was all a mistake.](https://www.nytimes.com/2025/04/18/business/trump-harvard-letter-mistake.html?smid=nytcore-ios-share&referringSource=articleShare) Whether it was a mistake to try to bully Harvard, or it was just a premature emission (so to speak) is not clear. Or if it’s a case of a cowardly bully caving the first time somebody fights back? Hope so. ---

That’s not clear. The Times says the White House told Harvard that the letter was “unauthorized”. it might have been sent before getting official approval, although the content was authentic. ---
