As usual, I don’t think you can take his words as evidence of his thoughts. Possibilities: 1. He genuinely does not know. 2. He does know, but chooses to pretend he does not. 3. He usually knows, but is experiencing the onset of dementia and didn’t know in the moment 4. He wasn’t really paying much attention to the question, so gave a vague, rambling answer he hoped would do. 5. He does know, and was either trolling or sowing chaos as a deliberate strategy. Honestly, how do you decide among those options? ---

If this happens, they’re all (Democratic Governors) under threat. ---
