I’m putting this here because it doesn’t warrant its own thread. The other day I saw my parents’ MAGA neighbor house, and he had a sign hanging on the house that said something to the effect that “Trump is making liberals cry” While we’ve been hearing about “liberal tears” for a while now, I realized that it isn’t just some joke. For a remarkable number of people Trump is good because (real or imagined) they like pissing off other people. How sad is it to be an adult who thinks being a dick to others is a worthwhile goal? ---

Well, in the case of the Jeep drivers, you can take comfort in the fact that Stellantis managed to accumulate the worst-quality brands from around the world, somehow make them all worse, and will probably ultimately take them the way of Westinghouse and Polaroid: You’ll be seeing Jeep-branded garden rakes at Walmart long after the last Jeep vehicle is produced. ---

My 1999 Jeep Cherokee Sport was built by Daimler ~~Chrysler~~ (the ‘Chrysler’ was silent). It’s still soldiering on. ---

I’m a big fan of old Wranglers. I’d never depend on one. Or probably own one. But I like them. Fun Fact: Some of the Chrysler models share window switches with some Mazeratis. ---

Seriously though, the idea that the rest of Canada would apply to become a US state would make Québec sovereignty support go way up. If people think the québécois culture and language are threatened now, it sure as hell wouldn’t be better under US rule. Heck, I’d vote for sovereignty. I have zero interest in becoming an American, or even ever moving there for work (or, increasingly, caring to visit…) ---

So there was lack of communication. The U.S. needed permission from the government of Nigeria to enter their airspace and to conduct the raid. Patel told the principal deputy undersecretary for policy, Tony Tata, that Nigeria had approved the mission. With aircraft 15 miles from the border, Esper found out that Nigeria had _not_ given their approval.
