> WASHINGTON (Reuters) -The U.S. Supreme Court on Tuesday cleared the way for [Donald Trump](https://www.yahoo.com/people/donald-trump/)’s administration to pursue mass government job cuts and the sweeping downsizing of numerous agencies, a decision that could lead to tens of thousands of layoffs while dramatically reshaping the federal bureaucracy.
>
> Tuesday’s ruling stemmed from an executive order Trump issued in February ordering agencies to prepare for mass layoffs. At Trump’s direction, the administration has come up with plans to reduce staff at the U.S. Departments of Agriculture, Commerce, Health and Human Services, State, Treasury, Veterans Affairs and more than a dozen other agencies.
>

That’s quite the nifty trick, isn’t it? Stack the court, and then the court says, “Hey, we’re stacked and will probably rule in his favor, so sod off!”

Employees at the Office for Civil Rights and Civil Liberties, or CRCL; the Citizenship and Immigration Services Ombudsman, or CISOMB; and the Office of the Immigration Detention Ombudsman, or OIDO, were abruptly suspended in March and given a separation date of May 23.

Now, how many of those 34 million live within driving distance of the farms?

There’s a reason why migrant farm workers are called _migrant_ farm workers. They travel a lot to follow the work as the agricultural season progresses. Of course, I don’t expect any of these MAGA chuckleheads to have actually thought through the logistics of their “plan”.

Seems to me, if they really did want to reduce dependence upon Medicaid, this might be an easy way to address it. One small change to the ACA could reduce the number using Medicaid by quite a bit.
