> One of the things that most astonishes me about Trump is how he has managed to take a party that was once dedicated to laissez-faire capitalism, and get that party to go all in on high tariffs, and on the government determining what products individual corporations should and should not manufacture.

Makes me question how dedicated they really were to those things. For my lifetime, the one thing that Republicans have believed in, in recession and expansion, in war and peace, in good times and bad, is tax cuts.

They still believe in those. They’ve just refined the paradigm. They believe in tax cuts for the rich. And they now have it on a silver platter!

The administration says the layoffs — along with thousands of voluntary departures — were necessary to streamline a department it argues had become bloated and bureaucratic.
>

> Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has released revised rules on personal appearance for members of the Army and Air Force that could disproportionately affect women and minorities.
>
> This month, the U.S. Army and Air Force issued separate directives that tightly regulate how service members are allowed to look, including the length of their hair, the way they wear their uniforms, and the color of nail polish they wear.
>
> Independent journalist Ken Klippenstein [reported on the memos](https://www.kenklippenstein.com/p/hegseths-new-dress-code-of-honor) on Thursday, writing that the secretary believes that “disciplined hair care will lead to a disciplined military” and restore a “warrior ethos,” which he often talks about in interviews and hearings.
>
> One of the most detailed sections in the Army’s [directive from July 8](https://www.army.mil/article/286911/army_updates_facial_hair_policy_to_reinforce_grooming_standards) pertains to shaving, which most members of the Armed Forces are required to do daily. The Army previously granted “shaving waivers” to service members who suffer from _pseudofolliculitis barbae_ , also known as razor bumps. These waivers allowed soldiers to sport neatly trimmed beards instead.
>
> However, under the new directive, soldiers with razor bumps will be allowed to keep their beards for only a temporary treatment period, after which they risk being banned from the Army if they do not shave. The Army will even cover the cost of laser hair removal for soldiers if other treatment options have been exhausted.

The rest of the article goes into deep detail. Suffice it to say the new policies impact minotiry service members more than whites.

As part of the Trump administration’s [One Big Beautiful Bill Act](https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/house-bill/1/text) that was signed into law on July 4, a new $250 “visa integrity fee” will be charged to any [US visitor](https://www.cntraveler.com/story/us-travel-ban-full-list-of-countries-and-exemptions?utm_source=yahoo&utm_medium=syndication&mbid=synd_yahoo_rss) who needs a nonimmigrant visa.

>

They also believe in bigotry and persecution, and Trump is giving them _lots_ of that. Even their love of tax cuts ties into it; one of the main reason they hate taxes so much is that _taxes can be used to help people,_ and they hate the thought of helping people even indirectly with every fiber of their being.

\*Aside: for an administration that insisted on making English the official language of the United States, these criminals are incredibly bad at the language.

I believe the proper term is _alleged offense_. And we’re not supposed to punish people based on just an allegation or an arrest. Punishment comes after a trial.

Tell me how many amendments in the Bill of Rights the felon and his accomplices have now violated, please.

And what the fuck is she doing contacting the county sheriffs directly anyway? The last time I checked, California, unlike the federal government, does have a working and competent chief executive.

Latest distraction: Director of National Intelligence, Tulsi Gabbard, thinks that Barack Obama should be investigated for “treasonous conspiracy” for his alleged role in the “Russia, Russia, Russia” conspiracy, what Gabbard deems to have been a slow-moving coup to thwart the will of the people and overturn the results of the 2016 election.

As always: accuse the other side of that which you are guilty.

> WASHINGTON, D.C. – On Friday, Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard revealed overwhelming evidence that demonstrates how, after President Trump won the 2016 election against Hillary Clinton, President Obama and his national security cabinet members manufactured and politicized intelligence to lay the groundwork for what was essentially a years-long coup against President Trump.

As always…

Gabbard was surely in the dog house after taking stands in opposition to Trump wrt bombing Iran. No better way to get back in His Orange-a-tude’s good graces than to go guns-hot after a known enemy of Trump (so many to choose from).
