My Great Circle mapper isn’t helping much. I reckon as Putin will fly just south of the north pole, from Kiev to Anchorage (have they yet picked a fucking city in AK yet?) should go just north of the north pole. My guess is that Zelenskyi will fly to London (which will allow him to avoid flying over White Russia) and from there to Anchorage. It would be about an extra 1500 miles or so. ---

If Anchorage is the city. Seems logical and totally secret all at once. And you’re right - fly to LHR then YYZ in Toronto and fly over Canada till the other two guys (and the press) tell you where they are, and what the dress code is. ---

My “great circle” app is working again and the paper-tape results are in: Kiev (KIP) direct to ANC direct goes exactly over the North Pole and is **4,761** miles. The caveat is that route flies over the friendly skies of both Finland and Russian Karelia and those Finns are known to routinely shoot down planes. Moscow (SVO) to ANC is **4,347** miles and the shoot-down factor is approximately 0, especially as escorts are a-plenty. The “white russian” route, I had to put in some stops and I myself flown Air Canada from Toronto (YYZ) to DUBlin, so Kiev → DUB → YYZ → ANC (I assume Air Canada has such a route) is **7,872** miles. Shoot-down factor isn’t quite zero, depending on who is in charge of NORAD. And if Ukraine has a 777 perhaps they can fly a slightly more direct route, esp. considering Anchorage may not be where it is. I still think the **wile** trump and putin will go for Sevastopol, or maybe the destroyed yet partly built back up Mariupol. ---

The Trump administration has imposed a 15% fee on sales of chips from NVIDIA and AMD to China. It’s not as if the chip makers are doing tis out of altruism or love of the administration. They apparently had to do this in order to get the export licenses. This is a direct violation of the Export Clause in the Constitution. Why is he doing this? Shouldn’t all those tariffs be generating scads of revenue for the US? Didn’t other tariffs / restrictions on GPU’’s to China inspire them to create really efficient AI/LLM’s with other, cheaper and available parts? I definitely recall NVIDIA’s stock getting a haircut when DeepSeek was released and I use it sometimes (unfortunately no API) yet it can spit out a little function that saves me some time. ---

Starting today we have the National Guard deploying to Washington, DC under the guise of “crime prevention” because one of the Monster’s minions got beat up on the metro, likely because he was running his mouth to the wrong people. The capital city of the United States, in peacetime, is being occupied by the military. Every day it looks more like 1933. ---
