DUI Pete should be happy with facial hair. It makes everyone believe they are all special ops super warriors. Even the lowliest clerk can look bad ass with a scruff beard and tacticool gear. And believing is half that battle. ---

When I was in the service, I came to the conclusion that all senior officers were closeted (or not so closeted) homosexuals. This was based on the rather strange sartorial choices they forced on their subordinates, and their perverse love of seeing young men march in tight pants. Hegseth seems to prefer twinks to bears, and this informs his grooming preferences. ---

I think the military is simultaneously deathly afraid of gay people, and deeply closeted. They want officers to be married (like that actually proves anything!) or they are viewed with suspicion, (and then they do their best to put stress in marriages) but their ceremonies are gayer than a pride parade in Sparta. ---
