>
> “The ad was for $75,000. Not necessarily. The _election_ is held in '28, but the _inauguration_ isn’t until January '29. So Bannon is technically correct that Trump will be president through the entirety of 2028.

Whatever the likelihood that the country will shake off its fascist fever and elect a rule-of-law president with the mandate to purge the administration of Trump’s influence — such an individual would have a very easy justification to tear down whatever Trump builds on the White House grounds.

“We got in there, and it was absolutely riddled with Russian eavesdropping devices and spy gear. Demolition began immediately.”

It doesn’t even matter if it’s true or false. No one (outside of the hardest core of Trump loyalists) will question the assertion or object. Everyone will just nod and say, yeah, makes sense. Hammers ahoy!

(Of course, it probably _is_ true. A rapid-fire construction project like this, conducted with zero review, approval, or oversight, is almost certainly nefariously contaminated by foreign adversaries. _Especially_ for construction work on the got-damn _White House._ There’s zero chance the Russians, the Chinese, the Israelis, and everybody else under the sun aren’t jockeying to get their people hired onto the work crews. The new ballroom is going to have more microphones than a choir competition.)

“I have a Secret Plan to end the Vietnam War in 1968.” Oh, wait, wrong President.

I have a few thoughts on term 3+

- The USA is in some war and no time for elections or changing horses midstream
- Each viable Democratic candidate has some misfortune and dies or has to drop out
- There is nothing unconstitutional with this SCOTUS. You want a ruling on the 22nd? Roberts and Thomas will write an opinion stating that it is unfair to have term limits.
- There is nothing a good SCOTUS can do anyway. How many armies do they have under their command?
- Go ahead and impeach. 53% isn’t good enough, need 2/3rds. (eta: and an army to enforce)
- Anti-Americans (like the Toronto Blue Jays) have dumped poisonous gas in all 50 states. Stay inside, keep your windows closed!

Y’all are missing the easiest way to fix all of these problems. First, you have to remember the felon’s view of “presidentin’” is “So shall it be written, so shall it be done” à la Yul Brynner as Pharaoh in _The Ten Commandments_. All he has to do is issue an executive order declaring the year 2027 will not end. The months will simply be named _First January_, _Second August_, etc. followed by the year number: _2027 AD_ (_Anno Donaldo_). Hell, he’ll just copy one of his favorite dictators, Saparmurat Niyazov, and name the days or months after himself.

And, since the year never ends, not only does his term never end, neither does the fiscal year!
