You think _this_ is finally what will be one step too far for the folks who have plugged their ears and screamed “lalala” all the while?

I hope that’s the case. I sincerely do. And this kind of thing should be reported as widely as possible. But if the past is any guide, it’s just going to be another thing they deny has “really” happened (possibly as a liberal hoax) or something they dismiss as not being especially important.

Discovering the power of using Christianity as a political weapon can be very moving indeed. Vance finally had an epiphany that didn’t involve brocade upholstery and pliant, yet gripping, pure goose down filling.

I know it’s a big ask to expect people in another country to drill down into our regional politics, but it would be nice if they’d considered the fact that that L.A. basically despises Trump and voted against him resoundingly. Now the Dodgers are headed back there today, and they are hanging on by their fingernails, down by two.

Seriously? No, fuck that.

It may not be all our individual faults he got elected but it sure as hell is our collective responsibility to deal with the consequences, especially something as inessential as dealing with a little booing at a friggin’ kids game played by adults.

This is the anti-Trump version of dividing the country into “the REAL™ Americans” and “the other side”. We’re just asking for the same culture war bullshit to happen again and again until we accept we’re all in this together, whether we like it or not, whether or not the people we’re stuck with are even decent human beings (narrator: they are not).

Trump got booed (with some cheers of course) at Yankee Stadium last month on 9/11/2025 and the mixed reaction was noted on the jumbotron with a live shot of him during the national anthem.

And in the World Series in DC between the Nationals and Astros in 2019

His showing up in both cases, like his short stay at the super bowl, likely delayed fans entry by an hour.

The Toronto fans are booing trump by proxy. Not California, and you can boo the Dodgers if you’re inclined when each is announced. They’d likely have booed felon #45 before all the 51st state crap started. His constant use of 51st and calling the PM of Canada “governor” in tweets has righteously pissed them (and me) off.

ETA: Of course he’s just winding them up (success!) as they could only be annexed as a territory and not a “state” big enough to give the Democrats a lock on Congress and President for a long time.
ETA2: Maybe not the Senate, though when I calculated Canada as I think eight states with the Martitimes being one, then the Senate too.

I think there might be substance to that rumor. At least from the Widow Kirk’s side, and her FM tight leather\* pants.
