Trump apparently thinks the Senate can use a filibuster to PASS legislation, which is either the dumbest thing he’s ever said, or proof that the dementia is becoming unmanageable. Trump has stated he’s going to take 10 Billion dollars from taxpayers to give it to his “Board of Peace” A board chaired by Trump, who appears to have the ultimate decision making power — and who directs where the money is dispersed. It’s a slush fund with no check or balances. Will Congress approve? Do they even have any say anymore? It sounds a lot like his infatuation with tariffs. He just sees something that can theoretically be used to coerce people, and doesn’t consider how they _actually_ work. How far away do you have to go to qualify for “travel”? Is going around the corner to fetch cigarettes far enough? Only if you don’t come back, perhaps? Or is if you go visit your aunt three streets away for tea and cake sufficient? Or must it be out of the state? Abroad even? By plane, car, or train? Bicycle? Chinese EV? During jury selection we always ask people If they have a conflict. We also offer to let people speak privately at the bench if they don’t want to give an answer in front of everybody. One guy comes up to the bench and tells the judge that he works at “Cent Com” and “we’re really busy right now” so he can’t miss work. The judge excused him from service. My co-counsel and I looked at each other and asked “what does that mean!?” Today co-counsel walked into my office. “Did you see the news? Yet the message here is clear: The UK is done with your shit and is not your poodle. It’s only over a fucking year since he became President again and he has completely cross-cut-shredded the “special relationship.” And what’s with 10 days? Usually, it was always 2 weeks. Bad things are already happening. Do what you want to do, and let’s then ask every MAGA up for election if that’s a “good thing” because Europe for damn sure won’t be calling it that. ---
