Just as you cannot expect Texans to be just like Rhode Islanders because both are Americans, neither can you expect Nova Scotians to be anything like Saskatchewanians because both are Canadians. And you can expect Quebec to be like no other jurisdiction in North America, Canadian or American; not even those it is right next door to. I agree that it is not going to happen anyway. Trump’s expansionist plans have so far failed regarding Panama and Greenland; and I see no reason why they would fail regarding Canada as well. It is just too big, and Canadians have no interest in joining the US. Hell, thanks to Trump, a lot of Canadians don’t even have any interest in vacationing in the US any more. ---

Even so, that doesn’t mean he wouldn’t _try_ something like another Venezuela. Attack Ottawa, kidnap or assassinate Prime Minister Mark Carney, declare Canada to now be American territory. It wouldn’t _work,_ but Venezuela demonstrates that he might actually decide to try it anyway. I wouldn’t even try to guess the outcome, besides it being a disaster. ---
