Trump asked for a $1.5 trillion military budget in the 2027 fiscal year, an increase of 40% over the current budget. Meanwhile, he’s seeking cuts in domestic spending, particularly anything that might benefit minorities. The New York Times said, “In some cases, the White House framed its cuts as part of a broader campaign to protect taxpayer dollars and prevent government waste and fraud.” Because _of course_ there’s no waste or fraud in the defense budget, especially not when it’s increased by that large an amount. ---
