> The key here is they condemn the political violence in the United States. So we are now just like any other banana republic or (as a friend’s wife referred to her home country) twelfth world country.

Typical. Political violence is fine as long as it’s aimed at the common people - such as Trump is doing to Americans - but aimed at a _leader?_ One of the demigods who rule over the subhuman rabble? Unacceptable.

Especially absurd given that Trump has more than once demonstrated that _he_ has no scruples about ordering attacks at leaders. Trump would be happy to kill any of them if it profited him somehow.

I expect Trump simply pocketed it, and the taxpayers are going to pay for it because that’s what they voted _for._ Voting for Trump meant that they were voting to become resources to be exploited or toys to be broken.

Why sucks for those of us who _didn’t_ vote for him.

Apart from the…well, _everything_ about it, there is the question of why, if they think the National Trust for Historic Preservation in the United States is “FAKE”, were they “shown detailed plans and specifications” by the military and Secret Service? Seems like a significant security breach, no?

Also, note that none of the three lawyers listed on this were on the original notice of appeal.

This is just stupid grandstanding for an audience of one, and I hope it results in sanctions against any or all of the parties involved.

> President of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, Mikey Weinstein, said morale in the military has nosedived since Hegseth’s appointment and the rollout [of his religious policies](https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/pentagon-pete-peril-republicans-turn-183704371.html).
>
> “They’re terrified right now,” Weinstein, [whose organization](https://www.militaryreligiousfreedom.org/) is dedicated to protecting religious freedom within the U.S. military, told The Daily Beast.
>
> He said the number of complaints the organization has received since Hegseth became Secretary of Defense had tripled–and a large share of them come from Christians in uniform.
>
> “About 95 percent of our clients are actually Christians who are being tortured for not being Christian enough by their chain of command,” Weinstein said.

[Evidently he was too busy doing that to do his actual job.](https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/pentagon-pete-accused-shocking-failures-132028900.html)

> A group of senators has accused [Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth](https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/pentagon-pete-regime-hit-mean-154916526.html) and the Department of Defense of failing to protect its troops in the Middle East.
>
> Six U.S. service members were killed in Kuwait in the first hours of President Donald Trump’s [war with Iran](https://www.yahoo.com/news/articles/pentagon-pete-ignites-fury-pushing-233738828.html), after their command and control trailer was struck by a drone.
>
> Senators Elizabeth Warren, Mark Kelly, and Kirsten Gillibrand, all Democrats, have written Hegseth a letter, suggesting the blame for their deaths lies with him due to a lack of preparation.
>
> “We are concerned that this is part of a larger pattern in which this administration has failed to protect Americans in the region from Iranian retaliation,” the letter said.
>
> Speaking to ABC News, Warren said Hegseth “must be held accountable,” adding, “Hegseth’s leadership has been one betrayal after another.”
>
> They said there were insufficient “plans to prevent possible harm from foreseeable attacks,” the senators argued, ”like retaliation with drone strikes.”
>
> They added, “Accounts from survivors and other officials with knowledge of the situation make clear that the risks to service members in the region were known.
>
> “[B]ut leadership at DoD failed to take steps to prevent harm that could come from Iran’s retaliation,” they said.
