Of course you can’t. But he’s also always not been all that bright. And also always been incredibly vain. So it never struck him that his preferred strategy might fail abjectly or what to do when it does. In my opinion of liklihood order. The **Ballroom** or something resembling the Ballroom will get made since there is a a giant gaping pit that needs to be built into something so it might as well be a ballroom. If it is completed before Trump leaves office it will probably end up needing extreme renovation within the next 5 years to prevent collapse due to shoddy construction. I suspect that several **Ice Breakers** will be built. We do actually need them, but the number will be 2-4 rather than 11. I’m hopeful that there is enough opposition to the **Arch** among veterans groups that it can be held up in court until 2028, and any preliminary work done can be quietly removed by the next occupant to return it to an unadorned traffic circle. The only lasting evidence of the Trump Battleship projects will be a marginal increase in DC’s AA meeting attendence, due to a number of Navy designers and project coordinators having 3 years of their lives wasted working on a project that they knew from the start will never go anywhere. ---

Mike Judge and his writers came up with what they thought was a ridiculously exaggerated, over the top satire of a society that had descended into utter incompetence 500 years from the time they wrote it, and they still couldn’t envision a President and administration as awful and incompetent as what we actually have, a mere 20 years later. I did see ‘Don’t Look Up’, but I’m afraid I don’t remember much about it, other than it being kind of a broad satire of how we as a society would handle an imminent world-ending event. ---

They wrote what they thought was a ridiculously exaggerated, over the top satire of the society of the year **2005** but set it 500 years in the future. That’s how satire works. But somehow, what we managed to actually create a mere 20 years later was worse in many ways ---
