There are markets to buy and sell shares when the main markets are closed, and those are even easier to manipulate than the big ones, like Toronto, because they are less liquid. I guess that is what happened there. Today the chart shows a rise of 1.8% so far. We’ll see what happens when Toronto opens. That is still a couple of hours away, right? I am sorry I did not write down the volume traded yesterday in tradegate, I only see today’s volume, which is very small so far, but in Toronto on the 4th it was 84,99 Mio CAN$. We’ll see what the volume is today compared to four days ago, before this market manipulation. It is also traded in FINRA, several OTC markets, in London, LS Exchange, Düsseldorf… with varying liquidity and volumes. The more obscure, the easier to manipulate, I reckon. ETA: Come to think of it, a statutory holiday in Canada but not in the US is the ideal moment for manipulation. What were you celebrating? ---

In both countries, the first Monday in September is always a holiday, creating a long weekend: Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. To stay on the subject of Clusterfucker’s attack against Bombardier, just to state the obvious: he is lying. Bombardier already builds in the USA, buys their engines from US companies, and is highly integrated in the US market, both as buyer and as seller from parts and components. I don’t know if it’s Bombardier’s direct competitors that will be affected the most. If Trump bans Bombardier from selling planes to U.S. companies, Canada will want to retaliate. That doesn’t mean they have to ban the same category of American aircraft in Canada. If they really want to get back at U.S., they could ban Canadian companies from buying from Boeing. Boeing is the largest U.S. exporter by dollar value. If Trump is concerned with trade deficits, he should leave the aerospace sector alone. ---

If he manipulates the markets to favour Gulfstream (as it seems), then he will influence what happens with Embraer too, and this being a Brazilian company (remember Lula, who ousted his pal Bolsonaro and put him in jail, as he himself should have been?) he will be even more manipulative in the most negative way he is able to. I guess. I may be wrong there too, and this is not investment advice. But I will look for what happens in the aeronautical sector, where there is traditionally a lot of state intervention anyway. Because I like to watch him do stupid things and fail. ---
