It’s all a matter of working around the banned words. Let’s try this: “At-risk[sup]1[/sup] groups, including the gender-dysphoric[sup]2[/sup], could find themselves with fewer rights[sup]3[/sup] under the proposed legislation. Particularly at issue are the rights of women bearing organisms gestating in their uteri[sup]4[/sup], which empirical studies[sup]5[/sup] using the scientific method[sup]6[/sup] have shown to be endangered.” Footnotes: 1. Vulnerable 2. Transgender 3. Entitlements 4. Fetuses 5. Evidence-based 6. Science-based. I haven’t yet figured out a workaround for “diversity,” but I’m sure that the wordsmiths of the CDC will figure something out. ---

Yeah, that was my first thought too when I heard about this. Seven? _Seven_ forbidden words? That has a certain resonance for those of us of a certain age. The seven words you couldn’t say on TV were shit, piss, fuck, cunt, cocksucker, motherfucker, and tits. So I’d suggest that CDC staff do a one-for-one substitution of the words in that list for the CDC forbidden words: vulnerable, entitlement, diversity, transgender, fetus, evidence-based, and science-based. So evidence-based conclusions about fetuses borne by transgender persons would become motherfuckers about cocksuckers borne by cunts. (Much more concise!) I have professional relationships with a number of people at one of the agencies under the CDC umbrella. I’m gonna suggest that to a few of them on Monday. 😃 ---
