Other possibilities: They don’t want him to come back because then he might talk to the press and put things in a bad light (they _should_ be in a bad light if you ask me, which no one did…) Bringing him back would be admitting a mistake, which Trump never, ever does. ---

Hitting close to home. A PHD student from my wife’s church got a message that his visa was revoked after a criminal background check. His criminal history is two speeding tickets and once keeping fish in a catch and release area. Just so you know what kind of dangerous terrorists the administration is trying to protect us from. Has a lawyer and is fighting it, but I doubt it will help. ---

Ever see a prison visit setup with such drinking glasses and teacups? It could be that Trump ordered this meeting. It could be that Bukele noticed Trump’s falling poll numbers and did it on his own. It could also be that Bukele did it out of fear of what a Democratic U.S. president could do to make his life miserable in 2029. Bukele can go off on this own just a bit, but will not seriously defy Trump. ---

Re my last post, it turns out that the Salvadoran authorities had Garcia meet with the Senator in a hotel, and have, according to Bukele, returned him to the horror prison — presumably back in the white uniform. ---

Unless almost insanely brave, he tried to follow the rules he was given as to what to say and how to act. But whether Abrego Garcia’s captors are satisfied with his performance is impossible for us to know.
