The site is needing an update – [Newsom signed it yesterday](https://www.cbsnews.com/losangeles/news/newsom-bills-immigration-protections/). And 90 days or so between a bill’s signing and its taking effect is typical. ---

According to the latest [CNN report](https://www.cnn.com/2025/09/24/us/dallas-shooting-ice-facility): > No motive was immediately announced in Wednesday’s attack. The FBI is investigating it “as an act of targeted violence,” and rounds found near the suspect contained messages that “are anti-ICE in nature,” according to Joe Rothrock, special agent in charge of the FBI’s Dallas field office. I used to naively think it was stupid that my local federal building, with the ICE office, has always had the US Marshals stationed by its exterior, in a patio there. Now I understand it’s to discourage actual attacks.
