I’m not an economist, but I think that if major foreign companies stop selling their goods to the US markets, that will have some economic slowdown effect in the U.S.?
Article is about European countries who have discovered that in addition to the tariffs on their finished products, they have to certify that the steel components that went into the manufactured good didn’t come from China.
Some finished products have thousands of steel components that could be caught by the steel tariffs.

Why sure, what else are you going to do with a national crop of soy sitting in silos without a buyer ?… hey let’s get the rubes to eat it … hell that’s what we do with ethanol subsidies and the HFCS byproduct.
Max up the national sugar intake, supplement with unlimited patriotically cheap vege oil, then cut back on access to medical services and solve three problems at once. Make American **Gigantic** Again.

I find it really unlikely that we buy Cooking Oil from China. Mazola, for Example, is made here in the USA. Cargill and ADM are big Manufacturers with lots of Manufacturing and Processing Centers in the US.
I suppose he’s just lying or deluded or confused. Not sure why I would try to explain anything about that Doofus. Thank you for your attention to these random Capitalizations.

Someone on Bloomberg this am argued he chose cooking oil because it’s not significant to the trade relationship and so it lets him sound good to the domestic audience without actually raising the temperature.

Seems stupid, even for him – looks like we import Used Cooking Oil from China, but most other Oil comes from Elsewhere. Whatever, not sure why I’m trying to explain this particular lie by the liar in Chief.

While jumping through the last hoop for the credit union to send a wire transfer to my mortgage servicer, so that I can pay off our house, the woman on the other end told me about enrolling into a higher-yield (3.65% APY) saving account. No fees, no limits, no minimum balance; just continue direct deposit. She mentioned something about ‘a lot of people think a recession is coming.’ Yes. I do.

I think it is. I don’t think it will feel real until all of the documents are where they’re supposed to be. But yeah, one less expense to worry about in the coming recession.

Ditto. We are also going solar. Our electrical bills are going to be minimal. Always at least $7.50 a month for the rental of the extra meter we need. That should be it.
When it was being designed, I asked them to add two more solar panels - Want to be sure.
