Any takers? That’s sort of like calculating the top grossing movie of all time. Are we talking in 2025 bucks or time-of-issue bucks? Hitler’s choices lead to the physical destruction of much of his country, the death and displacement of most of its greatest thinkers, lost a 3rd of the land to the Soviets, and caused the destruction of lots of other nations’ possessions and lives in trying to stop Germany. I think that Hitler would have to be the clear winner, and I certainly hope that it stay that way. ---

In my disgust at the notion the American citizenship was something you could buy, and thinking that was the grift here, it hadn’t occurred to me that this is an work around to evade the laws that forbid foreign nationals from making campaign contributions. I expect the second ‘Gold Card’ to be bought by Russia (if corporations are people why not countries?) so we’ll never hear “Russia, Russia, Russia” again because Vlad is an American too! ---

I would guess one of the contenders would be Chairman Mao with his Great Leap Forward. But it’s hard to put dollar (or even renminbi) numbers on that. It’s usually counted in number of deaths. ---

Dow only has to drop another 1,200 points to see us back to the level we saw over three years ago. 1,200 may sound like a lot but Trump has already wiped out over 7,000 points. ---

Tomorrow, as far as I know, is the day where we actually implement tariffs. The market is being held up by the hope that Trump calls the whole thing off, so if he goes through with this, it’s going to be a great depression level crash day.
