Sure, but Johnathan Rhys-Meyers isn’t really athletic and fit. He’s kind of small and slight. Young Henry was tall and muscular. They also get little things wrong, like hair color (both Henry and Katherine of Aragon were red headed. The series makes them dark haired( (Here’s show Katherine vs real Katherine.

BTW, my husband recorded the entire marathon of the 1st series, and we’re totally confused about the BBC promos for the “premiere” of the series airing later this week. What’s up with that? I understand having the episodes hosted with Leonora Critchlow adding some commentary, but why call it a “premiere?” They’ve broadcast the whole effing series in a single day, and THEN they call it a premiere? What gives?
We were all sorts of semi-excited to see Tudors on BBCA, but then I accidentally stumbled across it at Netflix. Seasons 1 & 2 are available for instant play, and Seasons 3 & 4 are currently available only on mailed DVDs.
I queued up the whole lot and then deleted the BBCA versions off the PVR.
Small price to pay for no commercials and presumably no “editing for content.”
