Happy Hump Day! It was a beautifully cool morning today. I had the windows open for a bit. I got new puppy pics yesterday, and the breeder told me that he is already using the doggie door to go outside to potty. One of the nice things about shar pei, they are very clean and practically housebreak themselves. I’m still a bit grumpy - I know, how can anybody look at puppy pics and still be grumpy? **MetalMouse** The pup is coming from Oregon, so he has a long flight to get here. I’m still hoping for BWI but the breeder usually ships to Dulles because it is non-stop. I’ll be sending you a PM so I can see the travel pics. **Ruble** - you have a fun family. I ordered pizza for lunch/dinner today. ---

Evenin’ all! All appendages crossed, but house hopefully hunted (turns out, they don’t run all that fast). It’s at the upper end of my price range, but it’s fairly close to where I need to be, has a usable kitchen (one place I looked at not only didn’t come with so much as an oven, it didn’t even have space for one 😕) is my own space, not shared (all the shared ones were so tiny, I wouldn’t have been able to bring my axolotls, or my beekeeping gear, or even a bookcase), and is in town, so getting part time work is pretty likely, especially over holidays, as it’s a crazy touristy area. Nice views, being a converted attic, which just about makes up for the 4 flights of stairs to get up there. Not found anywhere for the bees yet, but I hopefully have at least sorted somewhere to leave them temporarily near here, if I don’t find anywhere before I move, so I don’t have to live in a car with tank of axolotls and a hive of bees, which is a Good Thing. If all goes to plan, this means I can have people visiting, even to stay! So long as they’re quite small, and willing to squish up. Pico mumpfest anyone? 😃 ---

These stores about missiles and such just confirm what I decided when I was in the military 50 years ago. The military, (and this probably applies to all militaries, everywhere,) shouldn’t be trusted with pointy sticks, much less things that go boom. **Swampy** , the Pubic Sto has geezer day once a week? Our Kroger sto here (a.k.a. Freddie’s\*) only has geezer day once a month, the first Tuesday of the month. They also have veterans day on the third Thursday, so I get 10% off on store brand (only) stuff twice a month. :dubious: However, I am grateful for that little bit of grace. **Ruble** , your family sounds a lot like certain parts of my family, ceptin’ they’d pray about it first. _“Oh Lord, we, your humble servants, do humbly beseech thee to grant us a nice, satisfying Kaboom! today, with lots of saintly far (fire) and not too much smoke. Then they were bought up by Kroger, but they’re still called Fred Meyers, or Freddie’s by the public. They are one of the very few examples where a company gets bought out but doesn’t get pillaged and run into the ground by their new owners. The Freddie’s stores are run pretty much the way they’ve always been run, for which we are grateful. Ours has the best prices around, and the best produce. (Although Nap’s has better meat.) Still, I go to Freddie’s a lot, and am planning a trip out there this afternoon. It’s a whole 5 minutes away. 10 if traffic is bad. ---

On hold with the plumbing service for the second day in a row as they try to schedule service for me. Yesterday they said they needed to talk to the plumber and would get back with me. Today they act like I’m a complete stranger and they never heard of me (or the guy who did the estimate). I’m haning in there becuase the guy they sent around seemed pretty competent, but the office is sadly not up to his abilities. So I cleaned the bathroom and put up some pictures and did a little house painting (I had messed up a place when I took off my window blinds for the new windows to go in, and I fixed it…by myself!) **ruble,** I don’t think I’ve ever blown up a car, but if I ever decide to do so, I’ll get in touch with your family as they seem to have the knack… **swampy,** not sure if Kroger/Publix/Wal-Mart have geezer days, or maybe I still don’t think of myself as a geezer. I tend to split time in all three stores, dependingh on my location and mood. **Nut,** hope the house lives up to your expectations. **Sari,** me want puppy pics! Back from visitin’ the folks at the nursin’ home. They were in good spirits. Mr. Frank’s brought both of 'em a homegrown 'mater sammich. A homegrown 'mater sammich will make most anybody happy. I brought Mr. Frank some of the peppermints he likes and brought some of those white chawklit Reese’s mini cups Miss Becky likes so I got major points for that. 😃 **Nuts** yay for the new digs! **MetalMouse** yay for plumber appointment and house fixer uppin’! **Ruble** do newspaper articles about your family reunions begin with, “Among the injured were…” 😛 ---

**sari** , your new pupper reminds me of my great uncle Ed in that picture. 😛 It was one of those days. Everything that I did in the morning needs to be redone because the department involved decided to transfer their variances to “fix” them. This means that next month, my cow-orker will have to adjust them out of that location. The maintenance dude came this afternoon to change the light tubes in the kitchen so that I can see to cook. Sis called and told me that they weren’t coming until Monday night. Now I have to switch the day off that I pretty muched begged to get. ☹ ---
