With any luck, yes.

Well, I blew that joke, didn’t I? Should’ve been “With any luck, no.”

Blah.

Yeah. This show and the Simpsons definately get better as I older and understand the more esoteric jokes.

My plot to fully sarcasticize my children is in motion. Tonight we watched **Santa Clause conquers the Martians**. I fully expect to have a tsunami of sarcasm during their adolescence, but if I can weather the storm, what fine, fine adults they will become.
They liked the **There can be only one Honey-nut Bee** gag. They giggled when I giggled, they laughed, they slugged each other and they probably picked up a few lines that might haunt me. Feh.

I’m not a parent, but I have a brother who is ten years younger than I am. He likes what he’s seen of MST3K - mostly the movie - and if it teaches your kids sarcasm, I’d encourage it. This kid is almost 13 now and he’s still pretty bad at sarcasm. Which is amazing given the rest of the family.

I would always be amazed, back in the earlier years when Joel would read letters from viewers, how many young children seemed to watch the show with some level of enjoyment. I guess robot puppets are kind of a universal thing.

Here’s an idea–how about having them Google the stuff they don’t get? It could turn out to be very educational. You could also try this with **Rocky and Bullwinkle**.

It’s been a while, but I’m back.

Commando Cody continues, and leads into this horrible, horrible film. Fog covers _everything_. You can’t tell who’s doing what, where, or why. On the bright side, you don’t really care much.

Joel and the Bots put Commando Cody on trial during one of the host segments.

Once again, the world is saved, partly thanks to Sodium Chloride. That’s right, when you’re in a B-flick, and need a deus ex machina common chemical to save the day, trust Sodium Chloride.

Signature Riff:
(the protagonists encounter a shuffling troupe of humans on a remote highway)
\<Joel\> They’re on their way to a George Romero film festival.

My favorite joke from the “Slime People” episode is probably the one toward the end. As the women cower in fear, the men say something like, “Come on, let’s go get those slime people!” Scene then cuts to the women, and someone, Crow I think, says, “Aren’s men _cool_?” in this sort of “he’s so dreamy” voice. Slays me.

Another good one:

“Honestly, dear, the slime you bring home.”

There was one of those recent collections where one of the movies featured was missing a minute or so of the crew’s riffing in the theater - Might want to check that out. Rhino is replacing the disc for free, if it is the one I’m thinking of.

Yikes. Just yikes. First of all, the copy I got to view had some rough patches in it, and I don’t just mean the filmmaking. We’re treated to another heapin helpin of Commando Cody this week, as the ‘New Character’ appears for the 7th and 8th time.

Joel brings the funny with some Batman-inspired sound silhouettes during a fight scene - ‘Biff!’ ‘Pow!’ We also reference the old ‘Slowly I turned, step by step…’ chestnut for the 2nd time on MST; and the reference ‘By that time, my lungs were aching for air’ that seems to be so popular with them this season is explained as coming from Seahunt. Huh. Who knew?

During a break, Joel and the Bots ty to sell us Spacom, the all-purpose product.

This film has one of the funniest “chauvinist 50’s” scenes I’ve ever seen, as a general threatens to spank female hotshot pilot Colonel Briteis. (pronounced - God help me - as ‘Bright-Eyes’) Talk about military discipline!

Signature Riff :
\<Crow? Joel?\> “Meanwhile, back at the Cody Institute for People Who Almost Die Every Week…”

Criminy, I hope he wasn’t responsible for the Spanking scene… or the character name ‘Briteis’…
