Appropos of nothing here, I just have to say, I LOVE the company that we contract some of our special routes to. They are literally THROWING White Sox tickets at me. Good ones too - 3rd row off the side of the dugout on the 3rd base side. Look for me Saturday AND Monday. šŸ˜ƒ ---

Are you the one who is bright yellow and squarish? Me, Iā€™m a Cubbie fan. Nyah. Am back from very stoopit meetingā€“I cannot even describe the depths of the stoopid. Nothing accomplished, but at least the framework for next monthā€™s meeting is in place. No wonder things happen slowlyā€¦nice day out but Iā€™m too grumpy now to care. Poo. ---

Howdy, gang! I have been a big 'ol couch potato today. I woke up, had some coffee, and watched _Brokeback Mountain_. 4 kleenexes! I loved it! So sad, though. Then I got off my butt and planted some herb bushes that I bought on sale - basil and parsley. And my little tiny seedlings (that barely sprouted) along with 'em. Then I got back online, and finished the taxes. (Only about an hour.) And I cut up some meat for dinner - Iā€™m marinating some steak and veggies for some kebabs. Taters ( **N.O.T.** ) are scrubbed and foil wrapped, awaiting placement in the oven. And Iā€™ll make a salad in a minute. I tell you what, I could get used to this life of leisureā€¦ ---

Have I mentioned Iā€™ll be the only person in my office on Friday. Well, in my building, since Iā€™m in the little building out back and like it that way. I could come to work in my undies and nobodyā€™d know. Oh wait, I have to meet with some folks Friday morning, so I better wear pants. Probably a shirt and shoes too. Dang! I make my life so needlessly complicated sometimes. ---

I forgot to tell yā€™all about the tragedy that occured at the swampcave this morning. It was nearly a horrible tragedy but I was able to avert that, fortunately. My coffee maker died! :eek: That was my first reaction, which included some naughty words when I saw it leaking. Tragedy! Water pouring from beneath onto my countertop! Itā€™s of the spacemaker variety. As I said though, I was able to avoid horrible tragedy because I have a spare countertop model just for emergencies. Be prepared. Thatā€™s my motto. I stole it from the Boy Scouts. So, anyway, the spare is a baby coffee maker. It makes four cups. Enough for two mugs, so I was good to go. I drank more coffee when I got to work which I donā€™t usually do. So, this weekend sometime or other, I get to forge my way through the horror that is WallyWorld and buy a new coffeemaker. I hope I can find one like the one I already have. That would be good cause then all Iā€™d have to do is take the old one off of the brackets and slide the new one in. Thatā€™s what I did last time. So there you have it. A tragedy averted from becoming a horrible tragedy. Thatā€™s a whole lotta drama for 4:45 A.M. Maybe I should go brave WallyWorld tomorrow. ACBG is also a coffee drinker and since heā€™ll be hanginā€™ round here over the weekend, baby coffee maker just will not do for Saturday morning. He was very supportive and appropriately horrified when I told him of coffee makerā€™s untimely demise. He now sees the advantage to having a backup plan for such emergencies. Actually, what he said was, ā€œWell, hell, why should it surprise me to know youā€™d have a spare, you have a damn spare everything else.ā€ He thinks I have an obscene amount of appliances. Well, if _his_ coffee maker were to die, heā€™d have a horrible tragedy. I think Iā€™ll make him buy a spare. Heā€™ll thank me when, and believe me there will be a when, his coffee maker just ups and dies early one morning, cause we all know, thatā€™s when they like to die. The End ---
