There are a lot of medals that can be given out for “pretty heroic” deeds. CMOH is usually for throwing yourself on a grenade, single-handedly charging German machine gun nests. Stuff like that. ---

Overdoses dropping precipitously? People going into withdrawal in record numbers? Anything? It’s like everything else he puts a number to. Complete bullshit, to make him look awesome to the people licking his boots. And it’s so pathetically obvious. And sad. If he made a slightly less grandiose pronouncement, like illegal border crossing were down 50%, it would still be self-serving bullshit, but it would be self-serving bullshit that you’d actually have to stop and think about, and do a bit of research to debunk. But this? Absurd on the face of it, to anyone not already shoulders deep in Trump’s ass. ---

My wife watched it, thinking she knew what she expected, but felt obligated to just personally experience it to confirm her impressions. Fortunately, I was otherwise occupied from 7-9:30. As I drove home, I heard him on NPR. I got to hear him tell the helicopter pilot to “Come on down!” The fucking moron thinks he is running a game show! When I got home, my wife had turned it off in disgust. ---

That was me making fun of the _Melania_ movie trailer where Trump asks her if she watched something and she said she’d watch it on the news. I thought it was her way of getting a jab in at Trump. ---
