# The unmaking of a Presidency and a Country out of petty spite

It will depend on how heavy handed the ICE raids get in metro areas. The immigrant advocacy groups in Chicago are more than ready but the evil Tom Homan who is in charge of this got cold feet about the planned raids once it was leaked to the media.

The raids will start at some point and DJT has had Chicago on his list for a while. Homan has said ICE and Federal agents will arrest any local/state officials who interfere with raids or offer sanctuary to immigrants. Attempts to arrest any Alderman, Mayor Johnson or (the focus of Trump’s hatred) Gov. Pritzker and shit will get crazy pretty fast.

I think the new Trump gestapo are the ones who are afraid.

Gotta give it to ya, that really is a great way to explain the arc from merely reactionary to whatever it is that this movement is now.

The “establishment” GOP political operatives suffered a major Failure Of Imagination in not planning for what happened if a superstimulus showed up from outside their farm system. Maybe not _believing_ one such would/could show up. So he ran away with it: they who had intended to be steering things were instead left clinging on for dear life.

The Left is well aware of just how nasty fascists are, I expect they realize that open protests will just get them shot. Bombings are more likely than the older, less violent “protest style” tactics now that the fascists are actually in control.
