[The McGarrigle Christmas Hour](http://www.amazon.com/McGarrigle-Christmas-Hour-Kate-Anna/dp/customer-reviews/B000B9EYD4) has a bunch of less played Christmas music, but my favorite may be the Martha Wainright/Lily Lanken cover of the Chieftains’ “Rebel Jesus”. ---

I would recommend The Alligator Records Christmas album, chock full of blues-tinged Christmas songs. (My personal favorite - “Santa Claus Wants Some Lovin’”.) Also Brave Combo’s “Must Be Santa”. ---

My brother-in-law played for me a little holiday song called “Christmas on Acid” by The Vestibules. I believe they have a website where you can see a video of this. Truly unique. ---

Not quite in the theme of seasonal secular Christmas music that’s the main theme of this thread, but how about some actual carols that seem to get overlooked amid the God-resting merry gentlemen and the coming-upon midnights clear and so on?: Jean de Brebeuf’s [Huron Carol](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Huron_Carol), a retelling of the nativity in terms familiar to the Huron Indians by a French missionary at Sault Ste. Marie. My favorites on that album are “The Birthday of a King” by Norm Lewis & “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas” sung by Howard McGillin. Plus the money raised by the sale of the CD goes to a great cause. ---

They are simply some of the best holiday music you will ever hear, and it is for a great cause. I hope you have volumes 1 - 7 too.
