If you blink, your favorite musicians will have released several albums…whereas when you were younger your faves released material so slowly that they stopped being your faves. Also…before I know it, baseball season will have started. The downside of course is…what the hell happened to my toddlers and who are these grumpy teenagers in my house? ---

Okay, it isn’t all a bad thing. The typical chest cold seems to be over and done with a lot quicker. They used to last forever, and now, a few coughs and they’re gone. Sitting in a waiting room isn’t as bad as it used to be. A doctor, or a barber, used to take forever to get to you, and now, the wait is over much sooner. But…goddamn it, where did November go? I don’t remember anything between Halloween and Thanksgiving! I’m too old to lose an entire month that way! ---

After a while, you stop thinking in years, and start thinking in decades. You’ll wonder how you got so old, in so short a time. And after a while, everything either dries up or leaks. I can’t believe I’m 40 . . . . . . . . . 50 . . . . . . 60 . . 70 ---

It really does make things you’re waiting for happen, not exactly sooner, but it’s not so painful to wait for them. Have to wait for summer to do some things - no problem. I got stuff to do until then. It’ll be here before I know it. ---
