[/QUOTE] Nitpick: It’s 21 and 24, and 21 is the MUCH bigger geek. 24 is mostly geek-by-association. (21 is the “Kevin Smith” one, while 24 is the “Ray Romano” one.) Hank: This is worse than that time we were captured and molested by Sgt. Hatred. Dean: That never happend! Hank: Oh yeah, you passed out. Most of it was awful! I love that _most_ of it was awful. 😃 21: Something attacked number 27! I think it was two ninjas taped together to make a giant ninja! 24: I saw it climb the wall, it was a giant spider! I really dislike this show. But my long-time companda, Ling Ling, loves it, so I’ve seen most of the episodes. ---

Hank and Dean are describing an indicator light to their dad in the next room on a space station. Dean: It’s on! Hank: It’s off! Dean: It’s on! Hank: It’s off! Dr. Venture: IT’S BLINKING! Or the one where the Monarch returns from a long absence. Two henchmen get the call and as they don their unforms again they start to sing Mars: Bringer of War by Holst. ---

What was the Monarchs junior henchman who got strangled by Brock? Skippy? Ah, I remember my favorite line from No. 24 now. “Dude, I almost get killed everyday at _This_ job.” ---

The Venture Bros. is such a brilliant send-up of that genre of cartoon “kid-venture” that littered my Saturday mornings. Hate Floats" was probably my favorite episode of the new season: The classic opening with 21 and 24, the stilted recruting of new henchmen from the 'hood (complete with 24 as a crowd shill), Monarch stalking his ex in the giant flying cocoon, Dr. Venture taking Dean out to the mall to buy his first “speed-suit” (“does it have a little flap in the back so you can make poopie?”), The assault to take back the cocoon (Brock: “I am so keeping this net gun, it’s the only one I’ve ever seen work; most of the time they just tangle up.”). Then again, “Victor Echo November” was pretty great too… ---

[/QUOTE] I love the episode where Helper gets a bitchin’ paint job and a horn that plays La Cucaracha. Not only do we get Helper actually being helpful (who knew he was also a portable dialysis machine?), but we get Brock running over lots of Monarch’s henchmen, the story of Monarch’s origin, a great little side gag with chupacabra, and arguably the first hint that the boys are clones (the kidney transplants at the end). One of my favorite Christmas gifts of all times has been a black Venture Bros t-shirt. I wear it as often as possible – it helps me weed out the cool folks (those who recognize the shirt for its infinite coolness) from the lame folks (those who think it’s just a skull t-shirt). ---

I loved how the opening of Season 2 incorporated the 3 top guesses of what would happen in the opening of season 2 (from the internet). Does the DVD version include the interstitial that spells that out? ---

Great show. Crappy scheduling of episodes on TV. I bought the Season 2 DVD. Brought it into work and loaned it to a guy in the heating plant who had never seen the show. He devoured the entire thing in one night and loved it. “IGNORE ME!” Dr. Killinger and his Magical Murder Bag. Dr. Girlfriend. (“I still keep looking for the scars!”) Loved the “arsenal” in the guy’s locker. Mint in the box LotR sword. Later you see the guy running down the hall wielding the entire box. “Just glad I wasn’t the first one through the door!” Brock and Dr. Venture laughing and reminiscing about the 14 times the boys have been killed. “Brock Good!” (Venturestein) Just too much good stuff. ---
