# The Ventures

I have **all** of their stuff **except** the Japanese Imports. Sorry, but I’m just not gonna pay that kind of money to hear stuff they **could** have recorded here in the States (and probably did).

I _realize_ they are a big hit in Japan, okay, but what pissed them off at _us_, other than the fact that they didn’t have a number one with **Walk Don’t Run**?  
So what? The Dead never had a number one either, if I recall correctly. The Ventures had (and have) plenty of fans here in the US. I just don’t see the need for them to record in Japan and then sell the music back to us at an inflated price.

Nothing to add except that “Touch of Grey” was a number 1 song. Their only one though.

I don’t believe there was any reason other than the fact that they were very popular in Japan. Instrumental music needs no translation.
