Susanann is our resident expert on all kinds of things, from the [JonBenet Ramsey murder case](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=613697), to the [Casey Anthony murder trial](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=610411), to the [solution to the national debt problem](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=617137), to the eternal question of [what happens to animals in the circus](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=617104.).

In this thread, one poster asks how bad the circus actually is for the animals involved. The answer? Circus animals are killed when the circus goes out of business.

> [@How bad are circuses?](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/how-bad-are-circuses/589758/6):
>
> Well, you could stop going to the circus and convince everyone else not to go, that way, the circus will go bankrupt, lay off all the workers, and kill all the animals. Would that make you feel better?

Why? Oh because she guesses that’s what they do:

> [@How bad are circuses?](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/how-bad-are-circuses/589758/16):
>
> It is my guess that if the circuses close then all the workers will be laid off and all/most of the animals will be killed.
>
> > [@Omar Little](#):
> >
> > Oh, that it explains it. Thanks.
>
> You are welcome.

Based on the theory that if zoos are well run, they are at capacity, ergo excess animals are killed. She doesn’t work in a circus, mind you, but she just continues to convince everyone that everything they say actually serves to prove all of her theories! And then pretends through some mental acrobatics that you have actually been agreeing with her all along!

> [@How bad are circuses?](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/how-bad-are-circuses/589758/62):
>
> “YOU” are the one who sided with “ME”.
>
> I made the points that in general circus animals were taken well care of comparatively, and also that some circus animals are quite expensive to buy, and to take care of.
>
> You later came along much later and agreed with both of my points in my early posts. If you want to agree with me, then fine, but it makes no sense at all for you to criticize and deny the very same points that you are agreeing with.

Concurrently, we have her valiant efforts to solve the debt crisis. See, the solution is just to stop spending.

> [@The Debt Crisis Thread](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/the-debt-crisis-thread/589786/34):
>
> My plan is a lot easier and less complicated: Reduce spending.
>
> Wasn’t that easy?

No more, no less, just stop spending. See, because if bankruptcy is good enough to force everyday people to lower their spending, bankruptcy must be good enough to force the country to stop spending so much, equating it to the country to a petulant spendy wife “wanting to buy a new wardrobe every spring”. [Just tell that foolhardy woman no!](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=14049398&postcount=50)

She has about two whole pages of noteworthy quotes in the “[Is Obama All That Different from other Presidents?](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showthread.php?t=616254&page=2)” thread
My favorite, however, is her extensive crush on Casey Anthony. You remember Casey Anthony don’t you?[The person everybody keeps following on the news because she is so charismatic.](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=14035032&postcount=37)
Her obsession over all things Casey Anthony borders on psychotic, and the sheer number of personalized, creepy statements she makes about the case are simply astounding. Oh, she is also an expert in forensics and investigations of murder. And finding bodies in the woods:

> [@Casey Anthony . Guilty or not ?](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/casey-anthony-guilty-or-not/587745/179):
>
> It was underwater for 6 months? Are you sure about that? That is not true. What weighted down the body to be underwater? Nobody said that that area had water for 6 months.
>
> Besides, those woods are tiny, smaller than a football field, \*\*if I had been down there with my dog searching I would have found the body the first day. \*\*
>
> Also, there were searchers that, including investigators hired by the Anthony’s. The Anthonys told the searchers that the body was there and to search there. Any searcher with a dog, any bow hunter, would have found that body - esp after being tipped off that the body WAS there. Anyone/any bow hunter who can find a dead deer with an arrow in it can find that body. It is not remarkable, thousands of bowhunters do so every day, it is a routine part of bowhunting. One does a back and forth, or, a spiral pattern search, and by doing so can cover every square foot of that small wooded area in less than a day.

Bolding mine.

> [@Anyone following the Casey Anthony trial?](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/anyone-following-the-casey-anthony-trial/583652/111):

> Just wait until you see the second autopsy report by Spitz! It really bothers me when the prosecutor’s autopsy/prosecutors testimony is full of holes/incompetent/a lie/whatever.
>
> Casey may have accidentally killed the child, and Casey is definitely not normal, but I think Casey is innocent of m1, and I think there is something here done… by somebody else that we dont know yet. I think somebody else, besides Casey, did something wierd, strange, and probably illegal.

> 1. He already answered that. Certain trauma to the skull is only apparent in the inside, not the outside. From my own personal experience I can verify that there are cases where a slight crack is visible by looking at it on the inside, but does not show at all by looking at it from the outside. Duh???

Why is she so focused on the case? Well, it’s because she’s also creepily obsessed with other cases. As in all of them:

> [@Anyone following the Casey Anthony trial?](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/anyone-following-the-casey-anthony-trial/583652/126):
>
> I watch this trial, any trial, every trial to see all the different factors and things that might solve the crime, and I dont like it one bit when the prosecution does not allow facts to be presented. I want to know. The prosecution does not want me to know. It is as simple as that. Any time the prosecution does not want me to know facts about the case, any time the prosecution withholds evidence, any time the prosecution lies, then I switch my vote to not guilty no matter how “bad” the defendant might seem.

She also refers to Casey with statements that seem to imply that they know eachother, or at least that **Susanann** knows her better than anyone!

> [@What are your favorite charities?](https://boards.straightdope.com/t/what-are-your-favorite-charities/69551/20):
>
> Because Casey is a total and complete compulsive liar. Casey has always lied about anything and everything. Casey lying about Zanny is just another lie, nothing special, nothing out of the ordinary, and nothing unexpected.

> [@Susanann](#):
>
> If Casey knew Caylee died and that George said he was going “to take care of it” , then it is only natural and normal human reaction for a parent to make up, pretend, conceptualize that the child is… with a nanny, with relatives, with Jesus, in Heaven, Reincarnated, or whatever.
>
> Casey thinking Caylee was with Zanny the nannie might just be her way to face the tragedy that happened, most parents do not want to actually visualize what really happened to their dead children. It would not surprise me to think that Casey might have actually convinced herself that her child was with Zanny and not rotting away.

I could quote entire pages from that particular thread, because there are so many crazy entries. Feel free to share your crazy Susanann interactions.

Susanann, here’s a tip. Stop posting every insane thing that crosses into your tiny brain and then trying to trick everyone else into thinking they have actually been agreeing with you all along. Take some time off watching CourtTV and pretending you are a detective/judge/juror/forensic investigator and interact with actual people.
We know how much you hate Obama, and how you know the secret answer to all the big crimes on TV. Why, it’s so obvious, why can’t anybody see it besides you??

You fucking weirdo.

Learn something new every day. I haven’t followed the case too much and I just thought Zanny the Nanny was something the media made up to refer to the fact that Casey was drugging her kids (i.e., Xanax) instead of hiring sitters.

Wow, even this one demonstrates her complete lack of knowledge with regards to 1) what happens to a body under the water in various circumstances, and what various circumstance do to a body under water, and 2) just how hard it is to find something the size of a small child in undergrowth.

I have/can draw from experience in both, and she’s totally misinformed in both cases.

It also sounds like she got a lot of her circus animal information from the book ‘Water for Elephants’ or something.

Well, that’s the great thing about **Susanann** –other posters, maybe they’re crazy about this or that subject, but then in other threads they’re perfectly normal. With her, granted, she doesn’t constantly increase in craziness, but neither does her craziness decrease either. She is equally misinformed on every topic, from gun control to the national debt to the Casey Anthony case, and she’s just as crazy today as she was in 2002 and will be exactly as crazy in 2020.

My personal favorites are her assertions that Republicans have been great for black people because Republicans want everyone to have guns and supported the development of GPS.

I guess the real “Southern Strategy” was to make sure all black Americans could, um, head south.

She also worships Dorothy Kilgallen (I made the mistake of questioning [whether Kilgallen was actually a titanic figure](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=14049207&postcount=104) in the history of journalism).

Honestly, arguing/debating with her is like activating a conspiracy theorist madlibs program. You never know what she’s going to say, but you can bet that it’ll contradict something she said previously, that she claims she never said (even when you provide her with links to her previous posts).

I was totally unsurprised when she started on the gold thing. She strikes me as someone who’s elderly, not too bright, operating on outdated information, and planning on any number of Ron Paul-esque future scenarios.

If I’m not mistaken, I believe she once insisted that the reason the Nazis never invaded Switzerland was because Switzerland had a policy of no surrender, which supposedly made the prospect of fighting them in a war an ordeal too terrible to contemplate. That post actually changed my opinion of her; the claim is so bizarre and personal that I have to wonder if she has an actual mental disorder rather than being ‘crazy’ in the everyday sense of the word.
